Fantasy Drag Racing League Rules:

League Survival:

I never thought the odds of people wanting to invest $40 to possibly win $20 per race
or $50 for each half season champion would be a losing 15:1 ratio!
In the past, event and season payouts depended on how many owners actually paid for their team.
Since fourteen out of fifteen team owners believe the game should be free with cash payouts and
I finally found employment after several years of applying for positions,
the 2021 FDRL season will award cash to every race winner and the top three for the championship.

* ** *** Please Consider Donating *** ** *

There are a fair amount of funds required to operate the FDRL game each year.
The domain name and hosting fees paid to Go Daddy each year are just shy of $100 per year.
Plus I opted to get the extra security for the next two years for another $100 per year,
(you may notice the padlock to the left of the www address line)
Plus there will be $25 paid to each event winner and $175 paid to the top three for the year.
You can choose how much you would like to donate by using this Keep the FDRL alive! link.

Test Event:

The first race of the 2023 FDRL season
will be available to anyone wishing to try out the game for free and help prove every link and feature works as expected.

Racing Professionals:

The FDRL will only award prizes to racing fans not associated withthe a professional racing teams or sponsor.
If you are employed in the industry such as a driver, crew member or employee of a sponsor, and
may have a conflict with winning FDRL races, you can request to race in your own private section not visible to other team owners and
agree to not be eligible to receive any type of payout!

How is the Fantasy Drag Racing League run?

The 2023 Fantasy Drag Racing League will consists of one test event, the regular season of twelve races if possible and a six race playoffs sprint to the championship which follows the NHRA Camping World schedule.

Team owners will compete by selecting a stable of 8 drivers for each race. The owner that scores the most points throughout the eighteen race season will be the champion. The test event winner will receive the $25 cash prize but the test race points will not count towards your total for the championship.
and none of your lowest race scores will be dropped during the 2021 FDRL season!

Team owners will select 8 drivers from the FDRL View Driver Values section for each race without spending more than the $8,000,000 salary limit.
The top performing drivers have different $ values and your stable can include any combination of drivers from Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock,
Pro Stock Motorcycle or Pro Modified. The driver value of each event class winner will increase throughout the season when they win a live race and
the FDRL system forces all team owners to remain under the $8,000,000 salary limit for every event.

Selecting your drivers:

Team owners are never stuck with the same driver lineup for each race or the entire season.
Team owners have the flexibility to substitute a driver or change all eight drivers as long as the total value doesn't exceed the $8,000,000 salary limit or before the FDRL 'select your drivers' feature is shut down before Final Eliminations begin.
Each time drivers are selected and the owner hits the 'save my team' button, a summary with your team information and confirmation number will be displayed for printing . Each time any driver is changed, the team has to be saved again and the previous selected drivers will be overwritten with the new team and a new confirmation number. The LAST team saved before the FDRL system is shut down prior to Final Eliminations wwill be the team scored for each race.
Example: If an owner saves their team on Thursday to claim the 50 point pre-qualifying Bonus, then decides to swap a driver after qualifying is completed on Saturday, the team data and confirmation number saved on Thursday will be replaced with the driver selections and confirmation number saved on Saturday and the 50 point pre-qualifying bonus granted on thursday will be forfeited.
Please print your team summary when you save your team and are presented with your summary on the screen if you wish to follow along or scratch notes while watching and/or cursing unbelievable upsets during the actual live race.

How do I score points?

Each team scores points exactly as their selected professional driver does during actual competition at each NHRA event.
The process for scoring points is explained on the points page.

Team selection deadlines:

Team owners must select their team before the specified pre-qualifying deadline which is typically between 2:00 and 4:00pm central time on the first day of qualifying for each race in order to claim the 50 point pre-qualifying bonus.
The FINAL deadline for selecting your drivers is one hour prior to the scheduled start of the first round of professional eliminations on Sunday of each event. You can save a bookmark and review the Bulletin Board section for the dates and times for each event.

Race Results:

The results of each race will usually be posted by Tuesday morning following each event.
Race or season standings can only be viewed by team owners.
The team name, home city, and the score of the top 25 teams for each race and the top 10 teams in the Championship standings will be available
in the team owners only section on the FDRL website after each event.

Multiple Teams:

Team owners may choose to manage more than one race team.
Team owners who manage multiple teams realize their teams *are not* teammates and each team will be scored separately.
Team owners must log in and make driver selections under each individual team name. It is the responsibility of multi team owners to select the drivers they want for each separate team.
An owner cannot contact the FDRL after the race and claim that your highest scoring team of drivers was supposed to be registered to Team two instead of Team one, especially if Team two is in 1st place in the championship standings.

Rain outs:

In the unfortunate event of a rain delayed or postponed event, the deadline for selecting drivers will be one hour prior to the scheduled start of professional eliminations. If the entire event is not completed by Monday following the originally scheduled day of eliminations, the FDRL reserves the right to not score the event. You can refer to the Bulletin Board for the status of this decision
and the FDRL will make every effort to score each event.

FDRL Errors:

If an owner believes an error has been made, please contact the FDRL by using the contact us page.
Team owners have one week after each event has been completed to report any error.
